Office Makeover: Fabulously Functional Finds to Upgrade Your Workspace

The vast majority of us spend most of our days in our office.  And just like anything else (home, closet, car) it can get cluttered easily.

However, since we spend so much of our everyday life in our workspace, it should definitely be an area that is not only comfortable, but also an extension of your style and personality. Cleaning up your office space can also do wonders for your head space by helping you be more productive, organized and focused. Ever notice how you feel stressed and scattered when your home or office is a disaster, and how calm and centered you feel when everything is in it’s right place?

With spring is still in the air, it’s not too late to maintain your “spring cleaning” vow and give your office a little face-lift. Whether it’s home or off site, bring some color and cheer with you to the job.

Here are my favorite office accessories to not only keep you organized, but also looking super stylish:

Anthropologie Sleepy Hollow Pencil Cup, $16. If you’re anything like me, you lose pens and pencils all the time. Well here is a super chic and fab way to make sure those writing utensils of yours stay put.

ZGallerie Mustache Push Pins
, $5.95. These push pins are an easy way to liven up those boring bulletin boards you have in your office.  And mainly, I chose to include them because frankly anything that is shaped like a mustache, or has a mustache on it is immediately a fave.  Also – check out the plunger magnets too!

National Metal Bin, Restoration Hardware, $59. I love this bin (I will definitely be purchasing this or something like it for the office in my new place) – it’s perfect for holding files, anything that needs to be worked on/filed, or even to store supplies in.

*Quick tip – Try searching on etsy.com to find some really awesome vintage crates that you can use as office storage.  Old wine boxes or milk crates are great organizational touches!  And if you have a smaller work space, try searching for wire bins – this creates a space that allows you to easily stack your papers, folders, etc.

Jonathan Adler Universal Phone Dock
,
$48. This is great for anyone who uses their smartphone for office use or for those of you who sometimes manage to lose your phone in the large pile of work on your desk (I’m guilty!).  What’s great about this is not only is it adorable, it’s functional and works with all smartphones.

Vintage Industrial Steel Business Card File with Dividers
, $14. I’m old school and like to keep a Rolodex on my desk – hey, contacts accidentally get deleted, you forget to add them to your phone, computers crash, so having a hard copy of my contacts allows me to feel more secure.  Try adding a vintage vibe with something like this found on etsy.

Z Gallerie Bird on a Wire Photo Holder, $12.95. Adding a personal touch makes your work space feel like home, so why not put up some of the pretty faces in your life to get you through the day?  This is perfect for all spaces – it’s not bulky, but it lets you get the most out of your space without over cluttering.  And those blackbird clips are too cute!

So these are a few of my favorite ways to liven up a workspace.  Get creative – your office doesn’t have to be so drab and office- looking!  Other great ways to change things up are investing in a new desk or chair (if your company allows it), pops of color with your tech accessories (mouse, speakers, mouse pads, keyboards, etc), purchase some lively stationary, post-its, notebooks, message pads, and for a quick, easy, and relatively cheap fix, get some fresh flowers! They bring color, fragrance, and life to any space.

Now get to work (on your office space that is)!

Xoxo
