communication after first date

not sure if you remember I posted on here before about the guy who was chasing me since 2019 and I had a feeling he is going to disappear on me, well he didn’t and we have finally met on Saturday. Had a nice time, we went for a walk, because everything here is closed.
we did text a little bit after the date stating that it would be nice to meet again next weekend and he seemed keen, then on Sunday he messaged me in the evening saying that he hopes I had a nice day. I mentioned to him that I have a problem with my car and he is a mechanic so he said he is going to look at it for me.
No mention about when we are going to meet again exactly. I do have to say that his texting style is a bit weird, he is one of those I call boring men who will just text: how was your day, what you have got planned for the evening etc and tbh I don’t know if I want to receive those messages everyday as it will get boring.

he did mention to me that he doesn’t date much because the communication usually fails meaning he finds it hard to keep the conversation going .
but then again I don’t know maybe he just cannot be bothered?
