hi. I was married to a lawyer, his hours are crazy. They are married to the job and you come second. All his colleagues were either divorcing or having marital difficulties. The money means nothing when u don’t have a quality of life to me being at your kids parents night or doing the odd school run is more important than money. I guess it depends on the guy, my guy was a typical arrogant lawyer and we grew apart sadly and separated and actually we still fight about his lack of engagement with the kids. I feel sorry for him to be honest, his life looks shit to me. x
Sally GI am dating quite a established attorney for over 2.5 months now. When we first start seeing each other, I was the one who was traveling everywhere and never had time to see him. He seemed to miss me little too much and messages me all the time. I was worry that he will be too clingy for me, but then the past three weeks, he seemed to be completely tied up with work and only seen me once a week. I was very confused and I thought he was playing some kind of game, but wasn’t sure because he seemed honest and assume he lost interest after he asked me to be his girl friend and took me to meet his mother ( 3 hours drive).
After reading all these comments, I guess I should give him sometime before I ditch him?LeaI am an attorney and have dated many. If he is corporate his hours will swing around, especially if there is a closing that has to happen by a date certain. His hours will be bad if he is at a big firm. If he is in partner track, even worse. If you are needy and not at all flexible, this will not be a person for you. If you can just go with it then you will be fine. Setting rules on cancellations will backfire on you without a doubt. To me it is not concerning that you have had so few dates in that amount if time. When I did my first year, I worked 42 days straight from early morning to late at night. My ex spent many hours at a big firm taking naps at his desk because he had back to back closing a for 3 weeks.
SerenaOne question: what’s your attraction to men who have heavy duty jobs and not a lot of time for you?
