Hello ladies, how long do you think 2 people should date before officially being boyfriend and girlfriend. I have been dating this guy for 3 months and things just have naturally progressed we have been exclusivley dating for 2 of those months and its been great. Is 3 months of dating too soon?

Here’s my old lady question, How is being exclusive different than being in a relationship?

To me exclusive means focusing on getting to know eachother only while being in a relationship would be that next step like boyfriend and girlfriend and a bigger commitment, meeting other persons family etc.

Has the guy asked you to be his girlfriend? I think generally that conversation happens around 3-4 months, with most guys. Has he made any indication that he wants to take that step? It’s not wrong of you to wonder, I think your timing is right, but maybe give it a bit longer if it hasn’t come up yet (like a month)- as long as you are happy and feel things are progressing.

Not yet, when we established to be exclusive he initiated that. We have kind of naturally been progressing hes meeting my friends soon so I think I’ll take your advice and give it time to come up.

I personally don’t think there’s a specific timeline per say. Although after 3-4 months you would’ve been out with him enough times to know if you can see a possible future together. If this is the case have a conversation with him to see if he’s in the same headspace.
