Home › Forums › Break Up Advice › Ignoring the heartbreak?
So me and my ex boyfriend dated for 2 years. In the last year we were on and off but we broke up for the last time on Saturday. This is my first break up. I am upset over it but I just don’t want to dwell on everything that happened and what went wrong. I had a good day today, I’ve been laughing and feeling lighter but I’m not sure if it’s just because I’m ignoring the heartbreak, and if I am is this a bad thing to do? Should I cry and be upset even though I don’t want to. I’ve already joined a dating site, not looking for a relationship or even to get under someone haha, but just to distract myself and boost my confidence. Am I going about this heartbreak all wrong? Or is it okay with the way im dealing with it?
Sounds like you’re glad it’s over… That’s ok-
Nothing wrong with it. Good for you. :)
You should feel what is coming naturally. If you feel like you’re actually holding back tears and need a good cry, go to your room and let it out. But don’t force yourself to feel a certain way just because you think you’re supposed to. If you feel relief, go ahead and just roll with it. Be true to yourself and your feelings and it will help you get through this.
