I’m worried!

I’ve been with my boyfriend for a year now and started on a contraceptive pill 2 months ago. Haven’t done anything really apart from touching and the pill is more for my anxiety. Last night, my boyfriend put it in my bum for a bit and was really painful and stung quite a bit.

We were completely safe, pill and condom. I woke up with a sore bum and after lunch time today, I noticed some blood in my urine and under garments. It’s not heavy or anything, just a light diluted red. Other than that I feel fine.

Should I be worried? I booked a doctor’s appointment tomorrow but I’m stressing out quite a bit. I know to see a doctor for advice but anyone with similar experience able to calm me down a bit, just anxious. Tried Googling and it either said I’m pregnant or got cancer lol…

Hi Laurel,
Don’t worry, this sound completely normal. Since you’ve used a condom and the pill (and as far as I can tell you didn’t have vaginal intercourse) there is no chance you could be pregnant.

When having anal intercourse it’s important to use lubricant and to prepare with fingers (or something) before going all the way. This prevents any damage to your internal organs. It seems like you could have done with a bit more preperation and that you might have a small cut or something, hence the minimal bleeding. Keep an eye on yourself to make sure it doesn’t get any worse.

But I think you will be totally fine! :)
