I basically just need some reassurance to NOT call a guy.. I want to call a guy, BUT I need to remember that he knows my number and he will call me if he WANTS TO CALL ME right? I mean, our last conversation ended where I called him and he seemed almost non-interested in the conversation and I don’t want to be one of those girls, so if I give him space and if he wants to talk to me, he WILL call me, right? If not, he just isn’t interested in talking to me correct? I just want reassurance that not calling him is the best way to judge his interested if I’m usually the one making the calls to him..

We talked last week, midweek, but I made that call. about a month ago, he was calling me, every day, every morning on his way to work, and then it kind of trailed off, then he picked back up and started doing it again. then it stopped so I started initiating and now I dont hear from him unless I call, and I dont like the feeling, so I guess I dont want to feel needy, so I want reassurance that he knows how to call me, so if he wants to be talking to me, he will call me, its not like we’re a super new thing..

We are kind of an off and on again thing, great friends, for 2.5 years. We see each other in person usually through work.

For sure, if he wanted to talk to you, he would call. He called you constantly before so he is clearly comfortable doing so, if he wants to.
You said you’re on and off. Maybe he’s dating someone new now and therefore less interested in talking to you?
Also I hate to break it to you, but if you’ve been on and off with this guy for 2.5 years, he’s not that interested in you. If he were, you wouldn’t be on and off. I only mention this because it seems you’re using his calls as a way to gauge his interest. From the sound of it he might just call you when he’s bored, or not seeing/talking to anyone.
