I’ve been on the search for a Boxer puppy for the last 6 months, reaching out to every outlet possible. And then 2 days ago, I found a beautiful pup, the kids and I spent over an hour with him, went back the next day, spent another hour with him, and I filled the paperwork out. I’m (we’re!) so excited to have a boxer boy again. He comes home Wednesday!
Any dog parents in the group?!

I didn’t have a dog in my life until six years ago. I adopted a dog which was apparently abandoned, poor thing. He’s the sweetest and most polite guy I’ve ever known. (Except when he insists on going THAT WAY on a walk, and I’m insisting on going the WRONG WAY. He has strong opinions about that. But he forgives me by the time we’re home.)
Taking walks every day with my dog had changed my life, too. I tried to avoid being a couch potato, but but wasn’t very successful. Having to walk every day changed that. Great stress-reduction (both the walking, and just spending time with the fuzzy happy boy).
He was young but already house-trained when he joined my household, so I’ve never experienced the trials of house training a puppy. I hope that all goes well and you don’t have to lose much sleep!

Thank you both, I’m so excited I don’t know if I’m going to sleep well tonight in anticipation of picking him up tomorrow! I know it will be work, but I’m excited to put the work in. Doing research like crazy Lol.
His name was collectively decided by the kids and I to be Cooper!
Wish I could send a pic, he’s SO cute! 7lbs of love! <3

Awesome! I don’t have a dog myself right now, but I grew up with dogs and I love them. Boxers are a really cute breed too. You will have a blast with the little guy! Congrats on the new family member :-)

queenie am glad your getting the dog. it will def help you cope with your situation now. take your mind of sad things and give you lot of joy.

He’s only been home a few hours and already is bringing so much joy! He’s so sweet and loving, and I’m totally in love! <3
