Mid 50s, divorced forever, dated some nice guys, but always the same type; rough-around-the-edges tough guys with commitment issues and questionable backgrounds!

Enter this new guy. He’s very proper! Where did that come from? Handsome, no salacious past, good dad, professional, has a pot to go in if he needs…what does one do with a guy like this?

I jest but he is not my type at all. Physically, mostly, and why oh why do I place such major importance on a sense of humor. He’s a bit monotone and dry, if I’m being honest.
In your experience, have you ever dated anyone outside of the box and fell for them? I really like this guy, but can I picture a future with him? No clue! Any insight is very much appreciated.

I always ask people this..”where has your type gotten you?”
If you want a change you have to make changes.
Going for the same type of guy time after time will yield the same results.

Think about what’s really important to you, serious deal breakers, and go from there. Do some reflecting as to why certain traits are so important to you.

I have lots of friends who stopped chasing a certain type of guy and are happily married or with a great partner.

Going for the same type hasn’t worked for you. So your broadening your horizons and tryin to explore. Thats gud. You never know. When we are mature, we have that experience to luk beynd the outward attributes. A person may not be that attrctive but if he is healthy, presentable intelligent considerate well settled person why not. Meet him few times and then take a call.
