I know this probably means nothing so if you can be nicely blunt I’d appreciate it LOL. anyway, my ex and I broke up about 2 months ago and he is now seeing someone new (sucks but like oh well). A few days ago I was at work and I got a FaceTime call from an unknown number.. (when I found out he moved on, I deleted his number because it was over). I asked a friend of mine if they had the number by chance, a long shot but I just had a sinking feeling.. Turns out it was his number. I texted the number back with something to the extent of “sorry I missed this call, I don’t have this number, who is this?” I never heard back.. I guess I’m just confused as to why he would reach out?? What are the odds it was an accident? I’m continuing no contact with no hope of getting back together, but was that supposed to be that one relationship restoring moment?

I can’t say why, but I can say…. if he is really interested, you will talk again.

Agree with Tallspicy if he really wants to get in touch he will. I would let this go as maybe he did want to connect at that point for one reason or another, but if he wants to speak to you he knows your number.

I would also add that the fact you deleted his number and asked “who is this”? would probably not get a response from him since he is probably assuming you moved on by deleting his information (which you did). Not sure who broke up with who but seems you still have some unresolved feelings.

Our breakup was somewhat mutual, but initiated by me! It was definitely hard and hurtful for me but I knew that I was better off ending it than staying in something that didn’t feel right. He moved on with someone knew pretty quickly after and, naturally, that hurt. Definitely, not 100% moved on just yet, but moving on nonetheless! I agree that my “who is this” probably deterred any conversation and maybe that’s the universe watching out for me lo! Just wanted some outside perspective on the situation!
