Hi Everyone,
I wanted some advice, a guy i was sort of seeing, not officially but possibly on the brink of something serious cut contact with me 9 months ago after finding out i was dishonest (completely my fault) that was 9 months ago and i was starting to forget him after a long time of trying to get him out of my head (no contact rule from 6 months ago)
At the weekend, he text me out of the blue, saying he doesn’t mean to ‘pick up where we left of’ (no sure if he means the argument that was our last words or the almost relationship but that e wanted to say hello and hoped im well.
What do i make of this? Is he lonely so suddenly wants to see if i’m still on the cards or genuinely interested if i’m ok after such a long time?
I’m not sure what i want as it was all my fault its over and i was moving on.
Any advice on my next move welcomed!

There is no way to know. Just respond warmly should you want to, and ignore it should you want to.

I did reply, just to say how sorry I was again and that I hope he and his family were well.
Just wondered what everyone thought I guess.

Seems like a fair reply, acknowledging the wrongs done in the past, apologizing and then asking after his health. It’s a wrap!
His replies or lack of them will tell you where his head is, otherwise just chill.
Just don’t start sending texts like
“Long time no see! Where have you been! Hey stranger!”, “I missed you!” “You there???”, it places an unnecessary burden on a person already.
Let them bring out their own agendas for reaching out without coercion.

Yes you are completely right, I’m happy with my response I just as always wish we could read their minds!
I think it has thrown me as I really wasn’t expecting to hear from him again but I’ll get back on track and absolutely won’t send those messages! Thank you!
