I have a question….
Went on a date with a guy, we have met two times before this. We had a great date, then we kissed, he said next time he would make sure he isn’t so tired (he had work the next day). He said “text me when you get home”.
Even though we swapped numbers when we first met, we usually communicate via instagram direct messaging.
Instead of messaging over instagram, I text him on his number when I got home and I said I had a great time, sleep well. I didn’t get a reply.
Thoughts on what happened there? Maybe just tired and fell asleep because it was late? Number changed? Just not bothered?

Probably saw the text, there is no need for him to reply. That’s called an adult.

My boyfriend always asks me to text him when i get home. Most of the time he’ll respond back with goodnight. There are times he’s fallen asleep and doesnt respond back until the next day. No big deal. Have you heard from him at all since the date?

Lisa,ladies-He was thoughtful to ask you to text him that you were home safe. He did not need to reply. However I have 3 comments,as posts like these appear on here so often.. Young people ( I am 60,so I can say that lol) want everything instantly. Chances are that he will call or text,ask you out again. BE Patient- if a week rolls by and you don’t hear anything,well that is a different story.
Secondly,if you don’t hear from him,do not text him!! He knows perfectly well how to get hold of you. If he does the work-then you know he is interested.
#3 What is wrong with someladies ,that if a person does not text back instantly-that you assume you are ghosted,dropped,or that you said or did something wrong etc. Build confidence and self esteem and have lots happening in your life. Then if a guy does not call,you can shrug and know it is his loss!

I had a guy once, who told me to text him when I got home…
I did.
When I didn’t hear back from him, I ask him the next time I saw him. He said he’d fallen asleep.
I did not text him again…

He meant…that you should text him why you got home. Maybe he fell asleep. Maybe he didn’t feel like he had to respond. Who knows. Don’t read into it.

Such an overrated request. . Was he going to call 911 if you didn’t text him?

Date was Wednesday night. Now Friday morning, haven’t heard from him.

I don’t think it’s a sign one way or the other. I would pay more attention to how he treats you in dates and how proactive he is about seeing you and keeping things going. You’ve only met him a few times prior to this date you said, so you don’t even know him that well yet, let alone something as subtle and insignificant as texting-behavior. Just live your life and see what happens.
