I’m an introvert and sometimes I really struggle with social anxiety. When this happens I feel entirely out of place and like I can’t make eye contact. Sometimes I won’t acknowledge a person out of awkwardness, which obviously makes it way more awkward. I had this happen this past weekend at a family event and now I feel like I should apologize to the individual. I know it can look like I’m just being snooty, but that’s not it at all. Should I explain myself and apologize?
Yes, you should say something…
How can it be. you could be more comfortable to explain all this to them… (which to me would harder to do) than just make eye contact and mumble a few words of greeting? Not judging, just curious.
Do you have autism ? I dont think in life you should have to explain yourself but if you have Autism then its maybe an idea to give them the heads up.
