A guy texted me this morning and told me to have a beautiful day. Is it wrong to respond “you too, hope we can talk on the phone tonight?” Is that being too needy or pushy? I want him to want to just call me without being provoked but also would rather just talk instead of texting all night.

Stop beating around the bush.

“Hey, thanks, you too. I was thinking it would be good to talk on the phone instead of texting – would you be able to call me this evening?”

And then you talk with him and tell him that you aren’t going to be able to spend much time on texting going forward and you’d rather talk.

Have you met this guy? If not, he should be asking you out pretty quick or you need to cut him off. And if you have met, same thing, he should be asking to see you at least once a week or again, time to let him go because you’re just a fun pastime for him and this isn’t going anywhere, you’re wasting your time on him.
