The man was love bombing you! Total stranger talking abt getting close to you physically whom you have never met! You realized this is crazy and reacted normally as any sane person wld do! It stemmed out of self preservation. He showed what he wants from this and you turned him away because you felt out of your comfort zone and you didnt sign up for this.
You did the right thing! Now stop doubting what you did! Your actions were based on rational thinking. I think lot of posters here have given gud advice. But if you still want to meet the man and give him another chance, thats your call. Hope it turns out well for you.
