Hello,
Some of you might remember my previous post (“he no longer says he likes me or misses me”). Thanks again for your insights, that was really helpful.
I ended up talking to him a little while after, with the covid situation and being stuck at his place (I lost my job) I needed to get this situation cleared specially after a bad day together where he has been in a bad mood all day and ruined it by insistin to be with me when I would have been happy to be on my own. I explained to him my concerns and why this situation was making me feel unhappy and sad. At first, he was taken aback, he froze and didn’t have much to say except hugging me and repeating how sorry he was. I tried to initiate a constructive discussion but nothing came out of it, he wouldn’t react much, maybe he didn’t know what to say or do?
So after a few hours, I took the heartbreaking decision to tell him I was leaving because the whole thing didn’t seem to have a chance to improve. That wasn’t to play games, at that time I really meant that and I already knew where I was going and how. He was horrified and realized the extend of my unhappiness and eventually we started to talk, really talk. He promised that he would make efforts with the relationship, explained why he has been mooody lately and what was making him feel nervous, and also promised he would try to communicate better.
He then stepped up hugely : he is back to his usual kind self, extremely attentive, he initiates sex a lot more, is way more affectionate and cuddly… he is away for work quite often lately and even if he still doesn’t say that he loves me or likes me, he sometimes uses affectionate words to let me know that he misses me (I guess it’s the best I can have ?) and always calls me in the evening. The thing that was probably helpful is that he had to be away for work for longer than usual and he told me that the last days away from me were really hard.I keep going on with my life and my projects and I’m hoping it will all unfold in a positive way.
As I said, I lost my job with the covid 19, so I have plenty of time to read and improve myself. I read a lot this forum, I find some of the advices provided very useful, but I would like to know if you have any book recommendation regarding relationships ? I heard about the 5 languages of love, and I think that could be interesting because his way to show me he cares is definitely not the most common one. I will take gladly any other suggestion. Thanks!
TallspicyHow is he away for work? No one is right now.
NewbiePlenty of people are at work. Where do you think those docters in hospitals come from? The moon?
Lol.
But good for you that your relationship is better now and you are not freaking out about losing your job. I will lose mine too but what can you do? Except look for a new one.
I would recommend man are from mars and that dating coach, evan Katz is maybe his name. His website
I also like the baggage reclaim site but thats for advice on losers lolLiaTallspicy, we are not in an area with a severe lockdown, we are asked to stay at home as much as possible and respect social distancing, but people are still allowed to go to work and he can’t work from home (and he works remotely anyway, taking all necessary precautions). That’s a bit awkward given that in my homecountry you get fined if you are found outside without a valid reason, but where I am at the moment, the virus seems to be under control.
Newbie, I’m sorry for your job, I hope you will find something else soon after this crisis is over. Best of luck ! For me it’s a good time to think about planning on another career :)
Thanks for your recommendation, I will check that out !
