So I have a co-worker,. He works for the same county, different departments. He clearly has a department directory, but like today, he called me to ask about my weekend, and then goes on to ask some questions that one of the attorneys I work for needed to answer, and I know he knew she’d be the one to talk to because he specifically said, so, would _____ be able to give me any information on an individual’s case.. essentially, he got transferred to her, but I get confused, because there is a bit of flirtation that has happened and I wanted another POV to see if someone thinks he’s calling me for an excuse to call me, or if I should tell him to stop pretending to care about my weekend and send him another directory. lol

It doesn’t mean anything. Stop reading into things or you will drive yourself crazy. Here is a good rule of thumb. If a man is interested in you, it’s obvious. If you have to look for clues, he’s not interested.

I agree with Emily and Raven. You’ll drive yourself crazy if you try to read into stuff like this. At my job folks ask each other about their weekend all the time (I do it too, and I have a bf and am most definitely not flirting!) He was probably being friendly.

Even if he was slightly flirty, it doesn’t mean anything unless he acts on it. Plenty of people are a bit flirty with coworkers and it doesn’t mean anything. He doesn’t need an excuse to call you, if he had an interest in you he’d ask you for lunch or a coffee break.
