Why would an ex keep liking all your social media posts? My ex keeps liking my pics, and he’s not the kind of guy who just likes everything his friends post. He initially broke up with me over a year ago, then we briefly got back together this past winter but it didn’t work out. When we got back together he mentioned that he been liking all my posts for the past 6 months, and now he’s basically doing the same thing again.

Why are you still thinking about your ex?

Who cares about “likes”, they’re meaningless. You should pretend that the “likes” are just automatically put there by the social media site without him even doing anything.

So, don’t ask “why does he do this?” Ask, “Why am I still bothered by this? Why have I not blocked him because it bothers me so much? Why do I start thinking about him so much when something as meaningless and pitiful as a ‘like’ crosses my radar?”

Block him so you stop thinking about him.

What is the impetus behind your question?

Why are you still connected??? The BEST method to get over a guy is to remove him from your life completely. You tried, failed. Tried again, failed. So where’s the benefit in being tethered to this breakup twice guy? Break the tether (leash)), and free yourself up for a guy who will stick around.

It’s called orbiting i.e “the awful phenomenon of “a former suitor “keeping you in their orbit” – close enough to see each other; far enough to never talk.”

An “orbiter” routinely watches all your Instagram and Snapchat stories, perhaps even likes and comments on your Facebook posts but ignores you in real life.

People do this as a mindf*ck, to ‘remind’ you of their presence, to appear ‘concerned’ about your life and so they will have an excuse to pop back in your life in case whatever they were up to doesn’t work out.

Orbiting means nothing and you should just ignore it or block the orbiter who wants a front row to your life but doesn’t want to join you in the stage.

Make your profile private, and you can remove him from following you.
