You’re quite lucky that the guy asked you. For my part. After telling me his “unsure” of me. I didn’t hear from him after. I sent out message twice but I didn’t get any response at all.

I’d say give the guy a chance but don’t set any expectation so you could avoid getting hurt in the end.
